Presentation Convent

August 14, 1962 marked the official opening of the Presentation Convent, St. Vincent's. The ceremonial event was performed by the Rev. P.J. Skinner, Archbishop of St. John's. Father Battcock, the parish priest of St. Vincent's, at the time, was given recognition for its establishment, which was yet another of his many dreams fulfilled. The first Sisters to be housed at the convent were - Sister Mary Justina (Mother Superior), Sister Mary Christine, Sister Mary Appolonia, Sister Mary Florence, and Sister Mary LaSalette.
